Traffic Control Persons (Flaggers) are an important component of many work activities where workers or the public may be exposed to danger from moving traffic. In British Columbia, TCP’s are required to direct traffic when any part of the roadway will be occupied by workers or equipment. Situations where TCP may be required include:
Work performed above or below ground
Large equipment blocking traffic, such as a crane used on a construction site
Adhere to rigid compliance with WorkSafe BC regulations
Are covered by industrial-strength liability insurance
Are subject to regular on-site inspections by supervisors who monitor health and safety
Are supported by a 24 x 7 x 365 live Dispatcher
Have the training and experience to handle all types of traffic safety requirements.
Generally, when TCP’s are dispatched, they travel to your work site in their private vehicles and do not carry signs or traffic control equipment. The equipment is provided by the customer requesting TCP’s.
